Ingredients

  • 1 medium zucchini
  • Water or breast milk/formula (for thinning)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (optional, for healthy fats)

Instructions

  • Wash the zucchini thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticides.
  • Cut off the ends and slice it into smaller pieces.
  • Place the zucchini pieces in a steamer basket and steam for about 5-7 minutes until it’s soft and tender.
  • You can also boil the zucchini in a small pot of water for around 5-7 minutes, or roast it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes until soft.
  • Once the zucchini is cooked, transfer it to a blender or food processor.
  • Blend it into a smooth puree, adding a little water, breast milk, or formula to reach the desired consistency.
  • If you want to add some healthy fats to the puree, stir in 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Allow the puree to cool to a safe temperature before serving it to your baby. Test the temperature to make sure it’s not too hot.
